Baaeed: signs Qipco British Champions Day on Saturday

Monday

William Haggas sends only his third runner to Musselburgh this year as Queenlet attempts to clinch a valuable fillies handicap (4.10) under Danny Tudhope.

Success would bring Tudhope level with a total of 96 wins last season. The 36-year-old jockey has competed in five of the eight races on the card.

There is Listed action at Yarmouth with the British Stallion Studs EBF Beckford Stakes (4.00), where the King could have his first Pattern success with March Stakes runners-up Perfect Alibi.

Windsor, Killarney and the evening races at Wolverhampton complete a full day of flat racing.

Tuesday

After five flat meetings on Monday, show jumping returns to Britain with races in Huntingdon and Hereford.

Donald McCain, who is in fine form with a 26 per cent success rate, sends three to Hereford and one to Huntingdon, which hosts a six-race card.

Grade 1 winner Quilixios made his successful Irish debut two years ago at a competitive three-year-old hurdle at Punchestown (1.45) and Gordon Elliott could look to repeat the feat with debut runner Bestaline.

Another notable debutant under Rachael Blackmore in the contest is War Correspondent, a half-brother to Year 1 goalscorer Tower Bridge.

The flat races come from Leicester, which stages a handicap of £20,000 (4.50), while evening races in all-weather Newcastle round out the day’s fixtures.

Wednesday

Punchestown features Tier 3 action on Wednesday, starting with the Buck House Novice Chase (3.55), where Joseph O’Brien bids for back-to-back hits with Midnight Run.

The race is being watched by the Irish Daily Star – Best For Racing Coverage Chase (4.30) which could see a host of big names making their first starts of the season. Galvin, Run Wild Fred, Lifetime Ambition and French Dynamite are all among the participants in the 3m competition.

The popular Kansas City Chief hurdler veteran could make his first start this season at Wetherby (3.40) in the only other jump meeting of the day.

Flat racing comes from Nottingham, Kempton and Wolverhampton, where the Kevin Frost-trained Infiniti is looking to claim its sixth win from seven starts in the 2m½f (5.00) handicap.

Thursday

The Jump Races in Carlisle features the return of Year 2 winner Oscar Tommy. Last season’s star runner for Ann Hamilton, the seven-year-old makes her two-mile (1.35) chase debut after failing to shine in the Champion Hurdle.

Their rivalry could be settled in the Qipco Champion Stakes (4.00), in which Baaeed will look to end his glittering career on a high in Britain’s richest flat race.

However, Appleby will not go down without a fight and is aiming to send Adayar, last year’s Derby and King George hero, on his first start at the highest level since finishing fifth in the race last year. last.

Inspiral, Emily Upjohn, Trueshan and Creative Force are just some of the stars likely to make an appearance on Saturday at the unmissable six-race meeting.
