Home and Away's Ada Nicodemou discusses the long-term future of soap -

At home and away Star Ada Nicodemou has reassured fans that she won’t be leaving Summer Bay anytime soon.

The Leah Patterson actress first joined the soap in 2000, although she has no plans to say goodbye to the character just yet.

“I’m really happy here, I like it. I have good friends, why should I leave such a good job?” Nicodemou said in an interview with western australia.

“I’ve been doing it for so long it’s part of my life now. I get to be a mom, and a partner, and work – it’s a great lifestyle,” she added.

Nicodemou is in a relationship with businessman Adam Rigby and has a son from his previous marriage to chef Chrys Xipolitas.

Speaking further about her time on the soap, the actress said: “Yeah there are long hours and you have your hard days but overall it’s really fun work, working with people with who you like to work, and I travel, and go to big events like the Telethon and meet amazing people.”

In the upcoming scenes, Nicodemou’s character, Leah, will be at the center of a dangerous storyline when Marilyn Chambers’ (Emily Symons) secret daughter, Heather (newcomer Sofia Nolan), targets her.

Leah realizes how unhinged Heather is, but could end up paying a heavy price for protecting Marilyn from her daughter’s manipulative schemes.

At home and away airs weekdays at 1:45 p.m. on Channel 5 and 6 p.m. on 5STAR. The first screenings air at 6:30 p.m. on 5STAR and the show also airs on My5. In Australia, the show airs Monday to Thursday at 7 p.m. on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus. Some classic episodes are available through Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
