Monday 8 p.m.: Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa
Television: Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League

After a bad start to the season following a good summer transfer window (on paper), Villa are better in defense and the results have recovered.

Steven Gerrard’s men are unbeaten in their last three against Manchester City, Southampton and Leeds.

Villa scored against City and Southampton but they failed to score at Elland Road as Leeds had ten men for most of the half.

Their problem isn’t creating chances, it’s that their front line is keeping them away. However, in Forest, they have the ideal opponent to turn the tide.

There have been an average of 3.4 goals per game for Forest this season – and we expect that trend to continue on Monday night.

Both teams to score have landed in Forest’s last two home games (in two 3-2 defeats), so we hope it will be three games in a row.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

We’ve discussed Forest’s leaky defense (they’ve conceded 21 goals in just eight Premier League games), so Villa hitman Ollie Watkins should have more than enough chance to test Dean Henderson.

Watkins hasn’t been clinical at all this season with the striker scoring just once in eight games so we’re not brave enough to back him to score.

Instead, we’re going with Watkins to have 1 or more shots on target. He averages 1.8 shots per game in the Premier League and we want him to get at least one effort on target.

Emiliano Buendia has had a tough time at Aston Villa since his record transfer to Villa Park. Gerrard doesn’t seem to know how to get the best out of Buendia and Philippe Coutinho but the Villa boss will be forced to play against the Argentine on Monday with Leon Bailey likely injured.

Buendia came on as a substitute in the Leeds draw and looked sharp, with the attacking midfielder looking to play forward and create chances.

Buendia will be desperate to prove he deserves a regular starting spot and he’ll be up for it on Monday night. We like the look of Buendia To Score Or Assist against Forest’s dodgy defence.

You could really back all four Forest backs to get a booking and you have a chance of making some money (Steve Cook, Neco Williams, Scott McKenna and Joe Worrall are all on three bookings) but we landed on Cook.

The center half, who will have to deal with the lively Watkins, has been carded in three of his last four games.

We expect Forest’s back line to be busy and Cook could be exposed. Cook To Be Shown A Card concludes our Bet Builder!
