Is Jurgen Klopp threatening to overthrow on Trent after ‘mentality monsters’ defeat?

Arsenal have become the ‘mentality monster’ after a draw win as we all claim Jurgen Klopp has the answers.

TOP work from The Sun
You’ll never guess what happened now…

‘Arsenal 3 Liverpool 2: Gunners top Premier League as Saka scores twice and Martinelli sends Trent to the bench’

Annoying fact: they have been at the TOP since the third week.

Oh and another annoying fact: Trent Alexander-Arnold was injured.

time passes
Also from The sun:

‘ARSENAL proved they are the new ‘mentality monsters’ after being held back twice before beating Liverpool.

“Jurgen Klopp gave his Reds the title after winning the FA Cup in May – yet they looked anything but 14 points behind the new league leaders.”

Gave the title to his Reds in May? He’s been saying this since 2019. There’s literally a book about it written and published in 2019.

Oh and Arsenal have only come back to earn points once this season. And on Sunday they were at home against Liverpool and never fell behind. He feels a bit early to call them “the monsters of mentality”.

Why not – and this may sound crazy – just hire a great team from Arsenal rather than turn them into something they are not? Especially if you don’t have a clue where the phrase came from.

Be honest, it’s dynamite
But what does Pep Guardiola think of this Liverpool mid-table team?

Fortunately the Mirror can tell us:

‘Pep Guardiola Expresses Honest Thoughts on Liverpool Amid Reds’ Poor Start to Season’

And what are these “honest thoughts”. Hang on…

“It will come as no surprise to tell you how fascinating, challenging and competitive it will be. I would say the biggest test we can face in England is next Sunday.

And that’s all. These are Guardiola’s ‘honest thoughts’ on Liverpool. That a side unbeaten at home since March – and which City have not beaten in their last four attempts – remains their “biggest test” at Anfield.

It’s tricky, but sometimes honesty really is the best policy.

God it’s brutal out there
What’s better than “honest thoughts”? Well, “brutally honest”, obviously. The Mirror warm up on a theme:

‘Jurgen Klopp gives brutally honest reaction to Liverpool vs Man City next’

And what was this “brutally honest reaction”?

“Is he the ideal opponent to regain confidence? Probably not.”

Holy shit, he really isn’t holding back.

Big Wang theory
All football websites try to gain an advantage by spotting a hook in a manager’s quotes that no one else has. And it’s a classic of the genre Echo of Liverpool:

‘Jurgen Klopp explains Mohamed Salah replacement as Liverpool manager dismisses theory after Arsenal loss’

Jurgen Klopp indeed explains the substitution of Salah but which theory does he reject? We searched the word “theory” in history and there were no results, making you wonder if there was ever a theory to dismiss.

We can assume they mean this section of the story:

“The defeat leaves them 14 points adrift of early leaders Arsenal and 13 adrift of second-placed Manchester City and Klopp was asked if he thinks his team’s title aspirations are already down to just eight games. in the countryside.”

He added: “We are not in the race for the title! Imagine me sitting here and saying, “we’re almost there, just wait”.

So the ‘theory’ he rejects is that Liverpool are in the title hunt. Who the hell believed in this particular “theory”? Surely not even the Echo fanboys…

What would you advise?
Back to Mirror now and this is Jurgen Klopp’s last…

‘Jurgen Klopp didn’t take his own advice after Trent Alexander-Arnold anger’

Let us recall the definition of “advice” before continuing: “Advice or recommendations offered with respect to future prudent action”.

So what advice has Klopp given previously regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold (who may or may not be ‘angry’; confusion is deliberate)?

This, apparently, from March when Alexander-Arnold was excellent against Arsenal:

“Trent defended incredibly. Martinelli is such a talented boy. It’s really tricky. If anyone says Trent can’t defend, come to me and I’ll knock them down. I can’t hear that anymore, I don’t know what the boy should do.

This is not “advice”; its a threat.

So if he “didn’t take his own advice,” does that mean he should roll over? We’re confused and we’re sure you are too.

It’s the trend
But nothing is as annoying as the tendency to take two/three/four/five random words from a cute, innocuous quote and paste them into a title to create the plot.

“It won’t be a surprise – Pep Guardiola won’t be fooled by Liverpool’s poor start to the season” is one of the offers from one of the Echo of LiverpoolTrends army of writers. And we already know how annoying that ‘honest’ quote from Pep Guardiola turned out.

But this one – ‘All Week’ – Ben White admitting Liverpool’s tactics after Arsenal win – really needs a scratch at the bottom of the barrel.

What is ‘all week’ supposed to tell us?

How is that a ‘Liverpool tactical admission’?

This is the actual quote:

“All week with the gaffer, we were ready for anything. Tactically, we are ready and any situation that arises, we are there.

It’s almost as if this isn’t a ‘Liverpool tactical admission’ at all. But all this is only a means for a trend.
