Xiaomi 12T, 12T Pro Roundup: Design, specs, price and more

Xiaomi’s 12T lineup is just around the corner, but leaks and rumors have pretty much revealed everything ahead of next week’s (October 4) launch. The next series should include two smartphones: Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro. The company has already confirmed new 200MP imaging technology for its phones, among others. Here’s an overview of everything we’ve gathered so far regarding the upcoming Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro.

Design

Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro will debut in the market as the brand’s high-end smartphones. According to various leaked renders, the two handsets will have similar designs, matching the Xiaomi 12S series to some extent. On the front, the handsets will have a center-aligned punch-hole selfie camera. They both have flat screens and sport thin bezels. The right side will feature the power button and volume rocker, while the left side will remain empty.

On the back, they feature a rectangular camera island with a huge compartment at the top housing the main camera and two smaller cameras at the bottom. It’s hard not to argue that Xiaomi’s most recent flagship phones have one of the nicest camera modules we’ve seen in recent years.

Now, if we talk about the material and build quality, the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro might come with a traditional glass sandwich design, with tiny metal bezels on the sides that expand at the top and bottom.

Display and Specifications

The vanilla Xiaomi 12T sports a 6.67-inch OLED display which offers a refresh rate of 120Hz. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12T Pro has a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Under the hood, the base model would feature MediaTek’s Ultra Dimensity 8100 chipset, which is a high-end smartphone SoC with four fast ARM Cortex-A78 cores with up to 2.85GHz and four efficient Cortex-A55 cores. with up to 2 GHz. The processor will be paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

On the contrary, Xiaomi 12T Pro might be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It will have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Some countries might also get an 8GB RAM variant of the device.

Both handsets will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. Software-wise, they will run on the Android 12 operating system with the MIUI 13 skin on top. Other features include dual speakers with Harman Kardon tuning, an IR blaster, a USB-C port, and a robust cooling system.

Cameras

The cameras are going to be the highlight of the upcoming Xiaomi 12T series. The Chinese company has confirmed that the lineup will include 200MP camera technology. However, it may only be available on the Pro model.

Xiaomi 12T launched

According to reports, Xiaomi 12T Pro will have a 200MP camera with a 1/1.22 inch sensor, along with OIS, 8P lens and 16-in-1 pixel binning. It will also feature an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro unit. While at the front, it could have a 20 MP selfie camera.

The vanilla variant could have a 108MP main sensor which can be paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. For the selfie shooter, the Xiaomi 12T will also house a 20MP front sensor.

Pricing details for the upcoming smartphones are still under wraps, but thanks to tipsters, we have a good idea of ​​how much they will cost. A recent leak from a popular tipster suggests that the 8/128GB model of the Xiaomi 12T will cost around €580 ($568 / Rs. 46,412) in Europe. While the 8/256GB model is said to cost €630 ($617 / Rs. 50,413).

The top-end Xiaomi 12T Pro will be available at a starting price of €770 ($754/Rs. 61,616) in its 8/256GB variant. .64000). Note that the prices mentioned above are for European countries. The price may be lower in Indian and Asian markets.
